I’ve begun a new campaign of **Maladum: Dungeons of Enveron**, and this is the report for the first quest adventure. Below is a full recounting of the first quest.
Adventurers
Instead of going with the recommended buying option I choose to take the Items for the recommended Party from the Book and then I randomly drew 6 heroes and 6 classes and choose 4 of each.
Numinor

The first character I choose was Numinor and I gave him the Paladin class. My goal is to build him as a tank foremost but with some healing/support Skills. For Equipment I gave him the Axe and the rations.
Nerinda

Next I took Nerinda with the Assassin class. I want her to be a mix between melee and ranged combat with high mobility. As starting gear I gave her a knife and club.
Emmerik

Next we got Emmerik, he has the Warlock class, that was the only proper spell caster class I drew and I’m curious to see how he is going to work out. In my previous campaign I had a Pyromorphist and it took a while for that character to really become useful and be more than a loot carrier. So I’m curious how affected Ill be by the warlock and the corruption mechanic. Ill still expect him to be mostly there for carrying loot in the earlier missions so I only gave him a club.
Ariah

And finally I choose Ariah with a Marksman class. Not sure if ill keep her in the group for long but ill see how she performs. From the starting items I gave her the bow and arrow.
Quest A – Secrets in the dark

Primary Objective
Within all purple marked containers are objective markers, for each objective marker Ill gain 6 Gold after the mission in the market phase. If I retrieve more than 4 ill play Quest C next, if I retrieve less than 5 ill play Quest D

Secondary Objectives
The secondary objective is to retrieve objective token 9 that will give me a special condition for the rest of the campaign as I can check off an achievement on the campaign tracker. The objective Token is in the room in the center but the doors are locked (marked blue).
The green spot is the player entrance and the red one are the spawn zones for enemies and NPCs.
Gameplay
Turn 1
After adding the dread marker for turn 1 I activated Numinor first, he just moved 2 times + 1 effortless Action move.

Next Ariah activated moved 4 spaces + 1 space because of the effortless movement and then searched the room.

She found a sewer entrance.

Unfortunately the rolled direction for the magic die for the second door wasn’t particularly useful

Next Nerinda moved the full distance to reach a chest.

Finally Emmerik moved once + effortless and searched the room to find an apple.

In the adversary phase 2 Lamentors spawned from the ground.
I’ve placed one between Ariah and Numinor.

And the second one close to Emmerik (in hindsight, closer to Nerinda would’ve been the correct choice but I kinda missed that grave).

The Lamentor walked towards Ariah and attacked but missed.

The other one went towards Emmerik and attacked him, dealing 1 damage.

With no NPCs on the board it was time to move to the next turn.
Turn 2
Still in the Disquiet Area of the threat board I drew the “Spitting Fire” Event

Ive placed one burning marker on the ground and the other on on the Lamentor next to Emmerik.

Next I have used Ariahs Skill “Bullseye” on level 1 to get rid of the lamentor next to her

She then moved forward towards the next chest.

Numinor moved to the next room.

then searched the room and found another Axe, which I took for now.

Emmerik attacked the lamentor with a club dealing the 1 required damage.

He then moved into the next room.

Nerinda opened the chest finding another pathway, the first objective marker (objective 2) and a bludgeoning weapon.

The pathway event is the shortcut.

The shortcut card and roll was very lucky since the shortcut appeared towards the center room which could only be entered with a key.

So Nerinda moved immediately towards it.

Then a single Lamentor spawned from point 5 and moved a bit closer towards the heroes.

Turn 3
The turn started with the Blaze of glory event card, which hopefully will come to good use later.

Then I activated Emmerik, moved him towards the tomb and opened it.

He received 1 damage from the trap and put all items into his inventory.

Next Nerinda used the interact action to use the shortcut, moved closer to the desk with an effortless action and grabbed the secondary objective.

Her inventory is now full, the club and dagger might be the first to go, if the need arises.

Next Ariah went to open the chest close to her

She grabbed all the items.

Finally Numinor walked towards the room with the next tomb with his full movement (opening the door with an effortless action).

In the adversary phase 2 new Lamentors spawned from the ground, both close to Ariah and both immediately walked towards her.

The first attack missed completely.

The second one had 1 success.

Dealing 1 damage to Ariah.

Finally the Lamentor from the upper right corner moved closer.

Turn 4
Luckily I drew another player aid event card, the malacytic surge.

I removed the dread tracking peg, bringing it back down to 3.

And since I have not used any magic pegs yet everybody received 2 blessed tokens.

Emmerik moved towards the chest at the bottom right of the map and then rested, eating the apple he found earlier.

That fully restored his health (I noticed the black Peg in his health too late, ill exchange it in the next pictures.)

Nerinda just moved back with an effortless action and the interact action and then moved with a normal move action towards the north of the map.

Ariah attacked the first Lamentor, dealing 1 damage and killing him.

She had the same result with a second attack, killing the second lamentor as well.

With her effortless action she moved closer towards Numinor.

Numinor opened the tomb. Finding another objective, crafting materials, a dagger and a long bow. Also a trap.

The trap dealt 2 damage. I tried to re roll the blue dice with 1 blessed token but had the same result again.

So he took 2 damage but with his second action he rested, restoring 1 health immediately, from the items he only grabbed the bow and the objective and left the rest on the ground next to him.

No new enemies spawned.

And the lone Lamentor continued his path.

Turn 5
The event card for this turn was the “It’s alive!” card. I randomly rolled the magic dice to see which terrain piece its going to be (I misread the part, that is has to be a searchable terrain piece)

So I ended with the weapon rack on the eastern side of the map.

First I activated Emmerik, he moved with an effortless action to the chest and opened it. Inside he found another trap. A spell book, an Objective and some roots to heal corruption.

The trap was an alarm bell increasing the dread tracker by one.

He only picked up the spell book and the objective and dropped the crafting piece he found earlier.

With that I had 5 Objectives (+ the secondary one) and that was a good enough run for me so with his second action Emmerik moved back towards the entrance.

Nerinda moved straight towards the Dungeons entrance.

Ariah, rested once to recover 1 health and then also towards the entrance.

and so did Numinor.

2 Lamentors spawned behind Numinor and Ariah and went straight towards Numinor

The first attack missed.

and so did the second.

The other Lamentor moved closer.

and the mimic weapon rack moved as well.

Turn 6
In turn 6 all enemy spawns would be happening from grave points.

Ariah moved into medium distance to get a stronger attack and she killed the first Lamentor.

Then Numinor beat the second Lamentor.

He then moved towards Ariah and the entrance.

Emmerik activated next and moved also straight towards the entrance.

And Nerinda left the board.

And 2 Lamentors spawned next to Numinor and Ariah.

The first one attacked Numinor and dealt 1 damage.

The second one did 2 damage, which would’ve downed Numinor.

Luckily he still had 1 blessed token to re roll the blue dice and:

So he survived with 1 hp

Turn 7
The dread tracker reached the next step “Distress”

And the event card forced me to spawn another Lamentor who would activate immediately and would do so again at the adversary phase.

He then moved to attack Ariah.

He did 1 damage to her.

Then Numinor tried to attack the first one but missed.

Second time was the charm.

Ariah then attacked and also missed her first attack.

And also for her, the second one was more successful.

Emmerik then came to the rescue doing 1 move and attacking with the axe he found earlier, allowing him to attack with 4 dice.

1 new Lamentor spawned from a grave point, immediately attacking (and missing) Numinor.

1 Myria spawned at spawn point 3.

The other Lamentor moved closer.

And the weapon rack.

Turn 8
In turn 8 the Event Card “Get that one” was drawn and the Lamentor close to the group activated against Emmerik.

He only moved toward Emmerik but could not reach him.

Ariah then attacked and killed the Lamentor in front of her.

And then she moved towards the entrance.

Numinor then attacked and finished the other Lamentor.

He and Emmerik then moved towards the entrance, with Emmerik even reaching the end.

Two new Lamentor spawned from grave points and moved towards the group but couldnt reach anyone.

Weapon rack mimic and Myria moved

Turn 9
Nothing exciting happend in turn 9, the event card forced the adventurers to become terrified but they could still just reach the exit.

End Phase / Market Phase
All characters gained 1 exp, which Skills they will get I will decide before the next adventure, no one level up yet.
I received 30 gold from the Objective marked (5×6) and sold some Items for 10 more gold. I paid every adventure 2 gold to keep them in the party.
I gave Ariah the long bow but decided to keep the starting one. I want to see how useful the long bow will be with 0 dice in short range.

Next I will go for Quest C as I got the required amount of objectivs.
On the campaign log I tracked the secondary objective achievement and wrote down 5 relics.
Nice battle report for your opening quest. Finding that early shortcut was a great start. One thing to note about the Rest action, it takes two actions to perform. Looking forward to more.
Damn the rest action absolutely would’ve made a difference in the second half. I’ll play the next quest tomorrow, then I’ll do it correctly. Thank you!
