Painted Ironkin Steeljacks & Memnyr Strategist — Second Squad

Since I am preparing for a 2.000 match with my Votann against World Eaters I still need to paint some more Votann, todays project was a second Memnyr Strategist and another 2 Squads of Ironkin Steeljacks, unlike last time, I built the Steeljacks as the melee version.

Group Overview

2 boxes of Steeljacks and the Memnyr Strategist are ready to join my Votann. I do remember the Steeljacks being somewhat controversial when they were announced, but for me they just seem to scratch the right itch.

The Memnyr Strategist

Unfortunately there is no option to change anything about this model (at least without kitbashing) so he looks very similar to my first one but its still a fun model.

Ironkin Steeljacks With Gauntlets

While these are generally very similar to the ranged version it was a bit more fun to be ably to fully paint their chest areas. And I do dig the gauntlets.

Paint recipes

My general painting recipe for all Votann is:

“Lower” Armor and the gauntlets were covered first with Kroxigor Scale and then cover again with Terradon Turquoise
Leather plates and gloves are done with Black Legion
The Weapons were painted with Black Templar
For the belts, the coat of the strategist and the pistol bag I use gore-grunta fur
All metal/silver parts were painted with Vallejo Mecha Colour Steel
I covered the entire Miniature in Nuln oil and did a light drybrush with Corax white.
The white armor plates I redid with corax white.
For the drone heads I used Runelord Brass

Next steps

I preordered the christmas battleforce for this year so that will be my next Votann project. After that I will probably get a few of the still missing kits and go from there.
