Finished painting the old Combat Patrol for the Leagues of Votann
After seeing the reveals of the second wave for the Leagues of Votann, I have decided to jump into the faction of grumpy little space dwarfs.
Before I am going to dive deeper into the army, I decided to try my luck to find an old version of the Combat Patrol. I did find one and immediately got to work on it.
For the color scheme I wanted to go with the current box art, without really reading into the lore (yet).
Here are the painted results.
Hearthkyn Warriors
I`ve decided to start with the base troop to get a feeling for the color scheme.
Chtonian Beserks
Next I finished the beserks, building them was a bit torture but I enjoyed painting them.
Hernkyn Pioneers
I was the most skeptical about these guys, I didn’t like the whole hovercraft aesthetic (which seems a bit against my decision to start with the Votann in the first place but the earthshakers conquered my heart) however when I actually started painting them I must say I really like the models now.
Ûthar the Destined
Kept him as a final model to paint, I think I preferred to include more of the white Armor parts but at least he stands out as a special character. I am not sure yet how I will handle the Hearthguard models then but we will see.
Now I am just waiting for my preorder to arrive.
