Combat Patrol Magazine 1 Captain in Terminator Armor and Winged Tyranid Prime

Last year I have collected Hachettes Stormbringer Magazine for Age Of Sigmar for a while and I did enjoy it even though I cancelled it at some point. Now ive decided to do the subscription again with the Combat Patrol Magazine

Introduction

The first Magazine included a Captain in Terminator Armor and a Winger Tyranid Prime. I have already been collecting Space Marines and Tyranids since the Leviathan Launch Box for 10th Edition and already own all the Models from the Combat Patrol Magazines for these two factions but I wanted to double up on most of them and also start a new Chapter for the Space Marines.

Captain in Terminator Armor

Previously I did all my Space Marines as Salamanders but this time I decided to go with the Blue boys of the Ultramarines. So the Captain was the first model done in this scheme.

Paint Recipe

  • White Scar base spray
  • Ultramarines Blue Contrast for all the armor platting.
  • Black Templar for the suit beneath the armor and the Weapon
  • Vallejo Mecha Color Steel for armor decoration, gun details and the blade
  • Retributor Armor for sword handle and Armor Details like the imperialis
  • For the rocks on the base I used Basilicanum Grey (for the dead Tyranid on his Base please refer to the Winged Tyranid Prime as I did him the exact same way
  • The purity seals were done with aggaros dunes first
  • The Skin was done with Darkoath Flesh
  • I covered the entire Miniature with Nuln Oil
  • Drybrused with Corax white (everywhere)
  • The Blue Armor got repainted with Macragge Blue
  • The right Shoulder plate and on of his fronfacing shield decorations were done with Corax White
  • I repainted the Purity Seal with Morghast Bone and added decorations with “freehand” text and sigils.
  • The wax of the purity seals where painted with Khorne red
  • The sword I covered with Frostheart
  • I started Highlighting his Face with Kislev Flesh

Winged Tyranid Prime

Unlike the Space Marines I have decided to just add the Tyranids from the Magazine to my already existing Leviathan collection. (With some liberties)

Paint Recipe

  • White Scar base spray
  • Luxion Purple for all chittin parts and the Wings
  • Flesh Tearer Red for any Claws
  • Fulgrim Pink for any fleshy parts and the Tongue
  • The entire Mini was then covered with Nuln Oil
  • Followed by a generous white Drybrush with Corax White
  • I repainted the Teeth with Screaming Skull
  • And finally addes Yriel Yellow for the Eyes
