Why the Lumineth Realm Lords?
I have been eying a LRL Army for a while but never pulled the trigger. That changed with the latest Warhammer preview, while they only showed off the 1 new character model, when they announced they would also release a new battleforce and new Spearhead I figured it will be a while till I get another chance as good as this to start the Army. So on the Day of the preview show Ive preorded the old spearhead

My Goals
The Lumineth Realm Lords are my sixth army for Age of Sigmar. Since I already preorded the previously mentioned battleforce and Spearhead I am in theory already at more than 2.000 points (I do have to double check the new point values from the current battletome) now I just need to get everything painted. Roughly in April I do want to play a full game of AoS 4th Edition with them. (Would be my first, I only played third Edition and Spearhead so far).

The Painting Journey
I am well aware about the reputation they got as a hard to paint army. I wouldnt super agree with that so far. They absolutely take more steps than other armies per Model, the steps themselves I didnt consider harder than other Armies, especially the Hedonites of Slaanesh.

My favorite details
I just love the white and blue armor. I considered going a different direction than the boxart and even had a testmodel started in red and white but I didnt like the outcome so I reverted back to the blue and white. I am really curious how much of that enthusiasm will remain when I start the next boxes.

Challenges & lessons
The Sentinels dragged a bit when painting them but my biggest learning was not gluing on the shields of the Wardens before painting them, that helped a lot and I wouldve absolutely curse when not doing that
Paint recipe

Since all Minis use the same scheme I will consolidate everything into 1 list:
- All miniatures were base coated with White Scar spray
- Morghast Bone as base on the coats
- Ultramarines Blue for all cloth, the plumes and runes
- Gore Grunte Fur for Boots, bags and sword sheaths
- Wyldwood for weapon handles
- Vallejo Mecha Color Steel for chainmails and blades
- Nuln Oil over the entire miniature
- Corax White on armor Plates and decoration parts
- Skullcrusher Brass for any golden trim/accessoires
- Genestealer Purple for any gems.
- If there were any ruins on the base it was done with Basilicanum grey.
Next Steps
The Battleforce and the new spearhead, they should arrive at the end of februar and will probably dominate my march painting.
